Welcome back Scrumchies! It’s time for another exciting Sunday. It may be harder to separate this week as EVERYONE picked the Lions. Even the Sherburnes in San Antonio did not have the courage to back the Texans. Along with that sweeping pick, almost everyone also chose the Lions as their power pick. Only Dana, Bill and Heidi dared to be different. Bill is taking the Jets while in a moment of great treachery, Dana has picked against the Steelers. Luckily, Heidi came in strong to make a climb up the niece and nephew rankings by picking the Steelers. I hope Heidi’s good taste pays off.
Hello scrum people. I’m back home and slowly getting caught back up. It was also a generous slate of games for half the pool as seven players ended up with perfect scores and another nine had 4 points.
In the big picture, Mary still holds the lead with Gerri and John keeping a close distance.

Greetings from Liverpool. You’ll be happy to know Liverpool FC came from behind to deliver an exciting 2-1 victory over Brighton. The experience was amazing.
Here are the picks for the week. If I had known almost the entire field was taking Detroit, I might have taken a risk as the contrarian. As it is, only five brave souls went their own way, including two for Green Bay. Is there an upset in the air? I hope not.
There was also a lot of love for the new look Brownies. Can they deliver two weeks in a row? Can the Bears step up for Whoosie (in spite of her pick)? We’ll see…
Greetings from London. No blog post today due to technical limitations. There’s also no sorted rankings. Manipulating Excel spreadsheets on an iPad proved more difficult than I expected. But I was still able to tabulate results and share below.
Congratulations to Calvin, Heidi and Adam for their perfect weeks. Let’s see if any of them came up with a new strategy to carry that success forward.
Mary threw down a mean 4 which was enough to extend her first place lead. How long can she keep this momentum?
My strategy of making picks while fighting off jet lag seems to have backfired. Hopefully my brain will be well-rested and as sharp as a tack this week to stop the spiral.

What’s up scrum peeps? There’s another week in the books and holy cow those first two games were good. It’s too bad they were airing simultaneously. We were flipping channels back and forth during the final few minutes to try to catch the end of both. In the end, the Pack outlasted the Texans and the Lions prevailed on the road against the Vikings. Injuries abound in San Francisco and that third game was more of a yawn. The Chiefs took the road win.
Congratulations to our SIX perfect pickers. And this may be a new record – everyone but two players got their power pick correct this week to keep the scores high. Condolences to those who put the bonus with the Vikings.
At the end of week 7, the travelers remain at the top. Mary took her good score and managed to separate from Gerri by one point.

Finally, we close this week’s post with the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile. This is a family favorite and I had been tracking it around the country hoping to visit it for Emily’s birthday. It spent way too much time in the Midwest, but finally made it down to Texas. Emily was super excited to sneak in a rare visit.
Hello Scrumblees. We are ready once again for another round of football. The Packers, Vikings and Chiefs got most of the love this week. We will see if all that love translates to wins.
I have a small backlog of photos to share from different events, but today is dedicated to the European river cruise. Charlie, Gerri, Virginia, Mary and Bill represented the scrum on the trip. Celia, Louise and Charlie and Judy’s friend Nancy Gray also shared the adventure. They started in Budapest and worked their way up through Vienna to Munich along the Danube. Here are just a few photos from their excursion. It all looks amazing!
Week 6 seemed too easy for several people. We had 9 perfect scores and another 6 fours. Unfortunately, some were less fortunate. Remember how last week Dianne was perfect? Oh how the turns have tabled.
With all the shifts and shakes from week to week, somehow nothing really changes. Gerri and Mary remain atop the standings. *yawn* However, Paul is still lingering in the third place though and tightening the gap. Will there be a shake-up in week 7? Stay tuned, sports fans.

Hola! We have five competitors on their way to Europe for the ultimate river cruise. But does the NFL work around their playtime? No, the games must roll on! But we will expect some excellent photos in a couple of weeks.
Here are your week 6 picks. There was a lot of love for the Lions and Steelers this week. Hopefully that love will transfer to the good guys. Go Steelers!
Another week is in the books. As much as I try to pick these tight games with tiny point spreads, it always seems like two of the guys are runaways. The Vikings and Broncos both had their games well in hand. There may have been a little noise late in London, but the game was never in much doubt. The Buffalo-Houston game on the other hand came down to a final 59-yard field goal as the clock expired.
Dianne and the three Sherburnes were all on the right side of the picks this week rolling out perfect fives. They had opposite timing as Dianne was the second person to submit with the quick early picks and the Sherburnes all came in late in a rush on Saturday after I woke them up. John credited their success to desperation and not having the time to think before picking. Maybe there’s something to this.

Finally the photo gallery this week is a leap. Adam celebrated his birthday with a tandem skydive drop from an airplane. He reports that it was exciting, he remained calm, and he did not need a change of underpants on the ground. Way to go!
