Hello Footballers,

I come to you this week from Columbia, Missouri where I have driven Fletcher back to Mizzou to wrap up the semester, and to hang with my parents for the week.  Good thing I planned on staying awhile because it took the first two days just to get the Christmas tree up.  All I know is, you should all come visit and see that amazing tree.

Additionally, we are in a happy football week.  I was happy the Steelers won on Monday night and Dad was excited that he was the only person to get a perfect 5 in week 12. Way to go Charlie! That did move him up in the standings.  Other movement included some shake up in the middle and Dan moving into second place.

Speaking of Dan…I have THE BEST highlight to share with y’all this week. Check out the local Cincinnati news coverage of Dan’s family’s 50th annual football game (click here or on the image to go to the news coverage). I’m pretty sure Dan makes an appearance at the 2 minute mark. What a cool tradition! And, how fun to have your family featured on the news!

As for our own football traditions…we’re at week 13.  This week’s picks are:

I hope everyone is sneaking in an extra workout to counterbalance pie consumption over the past few days.  We had a really nice Thanksgiving here with lots of laughs, delicious food and some nice relaxing time together.  Good stuff.

This week, Bs and Cs aren’t just the grades I got in high school physics, but also the choices you could have made for teams:  Bucs, Bengals, Broncos or Cincy, Cleveland, Carolina. Not too many people went the alliteration route, but I was saying “Bee, Bee,  Bee” in my head while I was typing it up.

It should be a week that mixes things up. All six teams were selected as power picks, and the split seems about even on all 3 games. Good luck to everyone!

Well, it was an interesting week. The Cowboys complete annihilation of the Vikings managed to keep a few people in the mix, while also dashing the hopes of others. So much for a 3 point spread.

Nobody got a perfect week, but Stephanie did manage to close in on Molly a tiny bit, and Mary and Dan joined Fletcher in striking distance of the leaders. What will happen in week 12? Only time will tell.

The picks for Thanksgiving week are:

Happy Thanksgiving Footballers,

I hope everyone has remembered to take the turkey out of the freezer, and has located their elastic waist pants. Thanksgiving is almost here – yay!

This week’s picks are pretty evenly distributed, with all 6 selected teams picked at least once as a power pick. That being said, the Cowboys v Vikings game has way more Viking picks than ‘boys, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends in a tie. The Cowboys do always manage to find a new way to complicate things.

The other thing to keep an eye on, is what happens at the top of the leaderboard.  With Stephanie and Molly picking opposites on all 3 games, there is potential for Stephanie to catch up, or for Molly to pull even farther ahead. Good luck to both!

I hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Here in Dallas, Fletcher is home – woo hoo! and we are looking forward to having Team Sherburne roll in later this week.  I am so thankful for all of it.

I’m also thankful for the great pictures sent along this week:  weekend hikes (Charlie and Cassie) , school plays (Heidi as Dumbledore), the beauty of fall (Bill’s photo skills), and adventures with family (Charlie, Judy and Celia at the capitol in Jeff City and Stephanie and Mary at a winery).  It doesn’t get any better than that. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Well, there’s good news and bad news about our Week 10 picks. The good news is that you mostly likely had one of your best weeks. Woo hoo! Go you! The bad news is that almost everyone else did too. Womp womp, cue the sad trombone. So, yay to you for feeling like you finally nailed your guesses. And, boo that the magic wasn’t exclusive to your pick sheet.  (Also, I didn’t catch it until I had already done the screen grabs, but Whoosie’s super pick was Miami – the 4 point total was correct).

The youth contingent continues to dominate the overall standings with Molly in the lead and Fletcher and Madison right behind.  And yes, Stephanie is not in our youngest group, but she doesn’t look like she’s aged in the past 25 years, so we’ll lump her in with the young people too.  Way to go, y’all for surpassing 30 total points.

As we roll into week 11, a reminder to document your Thanksgiving holiday fun and make sure to send pictures. And, to send pictures of whatever else you might be up to as well. I do think that for those of us at the bottom and no hope of climbing out – seeing the pictures becomes the best part of the pool about now.

Molly continues her perfect pick dominance. Dianne got in on the act this week by also posting a perfect score. Nice work, ladies! Me and Violet are asking if you can send some of that mojo to Dallas.  And…let’s congratulate all the 4-point pickers as well.  It was truly a week of strong scores, surprisingly.  So very little movement in the overall standings.

Here are the picks for week 10.  Let’s see if we get more shakeup this week.  If Molly continues to crush it, the pack may not have the chance to catch her much longer.

I am running late and thankful for the extra hour daylight savings has provided to get this done in before the early game kickoff.

It should be an exciting week – all 6 teams in contention were selected as a power pick.  So, that means the standings should get a shake up no matter what.  As someone sitting at the bottom, that’s the best thing I can hope for.

Well, unless you are Heidi Lillegard, that was a pretty rough week. Amazing job by Heidi to get a perfect 5 points this past week. With only 5 people notching more than 1 point, she definitely got a big climb in the overall standings to second place. Molly managed to hold on to the top spot, but the gap is a lot smaller – Heidi and Stephanie are closing in. Way to go, ladies!
