Nemmers Scrum

There were too many perfect scores and fours to count, so an easy week for most. But not so easy for myself and several others.

The overall results reflect the previous trends with Gabe sitting pretty atop the heap. But one bad week and there are several people ready to take over that top spot.

There are not any tight point spreads, so this week we’re going with the feature TV games.

Dolphins@Chiefs ; Cowboys@Eagles ; Bill@Bengals

Picks are due Friday night. Cheers!

Kevin

Welcome back scrum peeps. This week the majority of the power picks went toward Jacksonville (boo!) and Minnesota. The selections are below, sorted by power picks.

Good luck everyone. Especially Heidi and Fletcher.

Go Steelers!

Week 7 included a nail biter in Indianapolis. The other two left nails fully intact. Congratulations to Dianne, Charlie H, Dan, and Tyler for their perfect picks.

With the updated standings, we find Cassie joining Gabe at top of the hill with Emily and Margie charging in close behind.

Here are your week 8 selections. There were not many projected close games to choose from, so I apologize in advance for these gems. Picks are due Friday night!

Jaguars@Steelers ; Vikings@Packers; Saints@Colts

cheers!

Kevin

This week all teams are represented in the power picks. The game of the week is Dolphins-Eagles on Sunday night, where we have a 50-50 split on picks, including a few power picks for both sides. That should be a lot of fun to watch.

Good luck everyone! Go Steelers!

Welcome back football fanatics. Week 6 proved to be a week of easy pickings for half the pool. Of those, five players had perfect scores this weekend: Cassie, Emily, Gerri, Calvin and Mary. Way to go! My crack Analytics and Research Department informs me that this is new territory for four of them. Calvin can show them how to do it twice.

Gabe managed to use his perfect week to take control of the mountain and send Fletcher and Molly tumbling down the rankings. There are a lot of players just a smidge behind. I’m predicting another shake-up by this time next week. Gabe can prove me wrong!

Your week 7 games are: Browns@Colts ; Lions@Ravens ; Dolphins@Eagles

Choose wisely… and get those picks in Friday night.

Our photos this week take us across the pond. Whoosie, Mary and Bill are touring Ireland and the UK. Emily managed to jump from her consulting gig in the Netherlands to meet them in Wales. When was the last time you were able to meet friends and family in Cardiff?

cheers!

Kevin

Greetings sports fans!

And happy 80th birthday to Charlie Nemmers! Let the candles blaze!

It seems Detroit is the pick of the week. So maybe you Buccaneer fans are set to make a move!

Good luck!

Kevin

Week 5 was another week full of surprises. Apparently, the 49ers big win over the Cowboys was not a big surprise to most, but players were knocked around a bit in the other games. Congratulations to Molly and Charlie for surviving the chaos with perfect weeks!

The standings sorted by week 5 scores is below (by special request):

The overall standings were shaken up a bit as Celia finally got knocked off her perch. After the dust settled, we found Fletcher, Gabe and Molly sharing the top spot. Way to go! ..but don’t get too comfortable.

There were few close games predicted for week 6, so we need to revisit a couple of recent teams. Picks are due Friday midnight!

Week 6 Games: Seahawks @ Bengals ; Lions @ Buccaneers; Cowboys @ Chargers

In honor of his perfect week, we feature Charlie Nemmers in the photo gallery. The first two photos feature Charlie with the Commish at a Mizzou women’s basketball game last season and a throwback to the lake in 2018 when Charlie verified Emily is not getting any taller.

Next is a photo of Charlie with his piñata spoils of booze and candy:

And finally, we have a couple pictures of Charlie and Judy from August along with the Nemmers kids from last Christmas.

Have a good week everyone. Get those picks in!

Here we go with week 5! It looks like SF was the fashionable power pick of the week. Nobody picked the same as me this weekend. This means I’m either the evil genius or I’ll be taking the express elevator to the basement of the standings this weekend.

For the weekend photos, I give you two from the world of Adam Nemmers. One is attending baseball with Lisa and Bailey. The other features him sitting on the iron throne at a renaissance festival. It’s hard to judge which is making him happier.

What a week. Not only did I get more than 1 point, I actually doubled my season score to launch myself square into the middle of the lower half of the standings. Woohoo!

The scrum crushers this week were Molly, Fletcher and Dan – each with perfect scores. Cecilia continues her reign at the top as she seems to be comfortably cruising along. Way to go!

It would be a shame if the four of them got donuts next week to let the rest of us in on the fun. Not that I am publicly wishing for such things. But I do love donuts. Mmm.

The tightest games for week 5 featured teams nobody wants to watch. So I mixed in the Sunday and Monday nights hoping prime time can add some entertainment value. Picks are due Friday at midnight.

This week’s picks are: Texans @ Falcons; Cowboys @ 49ers; Packers @ Raiders

Our photo of the week is of Cecilia and Greg at Miller Park. They are enjoying beers and food in the Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard, as Greg uses his phone to review analytics and calculate the potential trajectory of the next hit. I can only assume their support launched the Brewers into the playoffs. (side note: ballparks change names, but I do not change habits… it’s still Miller Park to me)

Have a good week. Cheers!

Welcome to week four! It seems clear that the Buffalo-Miami game is the game of the week. Not only is it a match up between two good teams, we have a large number of power picks for both teams. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. In the other two games, Cleveland and LA Rams seem to the power pick favorites. Will this be a week of big upsets? Or will the favorites prevail? Is it possible for Kevin to earn more than 1 point?

Best of luck to everyone who made the same picks as me.

This weekend’s picture features Mary, Virginia (Whoosie) and Bill on their way to Ireland. They’ll be touring Ireland and parts the UK. Who knew a flight could look like so much fun!

Cheers!
