Nemmers Scrum

Please read the rules below:

1.  The 2015 NFL season starts Thursday, Sept. 7th.  That will be our first week of play.

2.  Each week pick one team that you think will be a winner.  I need your pick for the week by end of day on Friday so I have Saturday to put the info together.  If you want to pick a Thursday game any week, I just need that pick before kickoff on Thursday.   In writing is preferred, so email or text.  Don’t text bomb me. Only send the pick to me – not the group –  so that each person can pick without knowing what everyone else is doing.

3.  You cannot pick the same team twice during the season.  This is a self policing thing.  If I catch it I will tell you and let you change it.  But, some weekends I am busy and cut and paste the sheet together with reckless abandon.  Sadly, it will still be your fault.  So just double check before you send that you haven’t already picked the Bears.

4.  First time your pick loses you get a strike but you continue on. The second time you are wrong you are eliminated from the pool. The team you selected on your first strike still counts as a “pick” so you cannot use them again. But, they betrayed you and got you a loss, so why would you? You must win to move on, so a tie the same as a loss.  Last woman (or man) standing takes the pot! 

5.  I will still run this through the blog:  http://scrum.manteeth.com.  If you subscribe to the blog, you will get notices of all the updates.  In general, I will try to have the picks up before the games on Sunday and the results on Tuesday (unless no one picked the Monday night game, in which case I might put it up on Monday).

6.  At the end when we are down to a few people left and they are all picking the same teams it always seems like it will be hard to pick a winner.  If that seems like it is going to happen (around week 13 or so), we’ll come up with some ways to make it harder (like picking more games).  But, if there is a tie where ALL remaining teams get eliminated in the same week, then that “pick” will count but only the teams that were in the hunt at that point will be re-instated for the following week. (kinda like a spelling bee.)
